Nintendo Wii and BT Home Hub

| | Comments (0)

Simple answers for connecting a Wii to your BT home hub - what worked for me anyway. Hopefully I can save 1 guy from an evening's trouble.

Connecting wirelessly I got a 51030 error, many people suggest changing your homehub to use channels 1 or 11. For this go to http://192.168.1.254/ (or whatever internal IP address it's using) then Advanced->Configuration and change Channel Selection->Manual, then Channel -> 1 or 11.

I still got the 51030 error, and it turns out that the SSID the Wii uses is case sensitive! Yes believe it. If your hub's SSID is 'BTHomeHub-1234' then 'bthomehub-1234' won't work.

I did that and then got a 52030 error which I'm guessing means found the network but the WEP key was wrong. Check that you're using WEP (not any of the others) and that you didn't make any typos, turns out I had.

And presto.
