New job! New flat!

Old news actually but I've been too crap to post it here.

I've taken on a new position at work, Senior Operations Engineer! Or rather, 'acting' senior. They were struggling to recruit somebody for this job for many months, then a friend at work (higher up than me) came over and said would I be interested in doing it since he figured I'd be good at it and seemed like the kind of guy who'd enjoy something like that. So I said yes, and here I am.

To be honest, I'd been feeling like taking a break from programming for ages since it was starting to get me down. So far it's working and I'm actually enjoying coming to work again! I get to maintain a fairly complex CMS (content management system) and manage a team of 2 (soon to be 3) sys admins who do the actual bitch work. My time is basically three quarters meetings / release planning / documentation / incident management, and one quarter getting to mess directly with the servers. Anyway I'm really enjoying it despite it being HARD work and long hours.

I've also moved flats to a very nice 1 bedroom flat, still in Shepherd's Bush. Photos can be found on my lovely wife, Bing's, site (link on the right)

Hey honey, honestly I don't like seeing you work 10hours (14hours the day before) everyday. But I am so glad you are enjoying everything in this new role - one can feel so much more valued and fulfilled when things are challenging. I know you can do it. YOU ARE THE BEST! :D

Everyone is very welcome to my site to view those photos. Please feel free to leave comments there if you like. :)

Evo, thanks. :)
(the evil Davo disagreed to let me put up all other teddies though... :( )

Evil Davo knows nothing about teddies!
