Global warming video

Very interesting movie showing the viewpoint of a handful of scientists brave enough to speak out against global warming. (Openly saying you disagree with the mainstream view sounds like professional suicide, you'll get discredited, reviled and good luck getting study grants!)

The unfortunate truth is that man-made global warming has become a bit like a religion, and death to the heretics! And people get NASTY about it. One of the scientists with an opposing view has even received death threats.

There's a special hell reserved for these militant and over-zealous activists. I think the modern world has left some people with too much free time and an easy ride. When your rich parents have paid for your university tuition and car, or you're living on state benefits because you're too lazy to work, you've got a lot of free time. People desperately need something to believe in, and with no modern conflicts to really get excited about (so much for the war on terror, nobody cares any more - hopefully), something needs to take it's place to occupy people's hearts. So they throw themselves into these crusades. I say there are more important things to worry about. Sure, get political and stuff, but about the important things.

Anyway watch it with an open mind, lots of interesting facts, and all presented in a logical, non-alarmist way.

I like this quote from the beginning of the movie "I've often heard it said that there's a consensus of thousands of scientists on the global warming issue and the humans are causing a catastrophic change to the climate system. Well I am one scientist, and there are many, that simply think that that is not true"

P.S. This is not to say the environment can go screw itself, but there are other things to worry about e.g. Overfishing, topsoil erosion, pollution of ground water, etc. To me all this crap about trying to prevent climate change is a bit like... an obese smoker with a liver ruined by alcohol and a bullet wound in the leg spending all his money on miracle treatments to stop himself aging.
