Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Jordan Hawkins explores past relationships and current tensions on his new track, “LOST”. With production by Ari Carpenter and Jackson Kinder, the beat beckons you to a hazy summer afternoon in California. Additionally, ethereal vocals provided by oghosthaze¬†complement the instrumental that seemingly floats above ground.

Guarded and introspective lyricism are channeled through melancholy vocal tones over the windows down instrumental to craft a skillful contrast. Certainly, this artistic choice is an extension of the track’s dichotomous theme of sincerity and deceit.

Speaking to Electric Sloth via email, Jordan Hawkins said: “‘LOST’ is about wanting to pursue a relationship that feels right, but being unsure about the outcome given past experiences and paranoia.”

Hawkins is paving a path reminiscent of artists such as Pink Sweats, Khalid, and Daniel Caesar, and taking influence from the likes of Frank Ocean, Jimi Hendrix, and Ty Dolla $ign.

“LOST” is out now on all platforms. Jordan Hawkins will release his upcoming project,¬†WARM soon. As a result, Electric Sloth will be providing more details as the project nears release.
