If you’re a fan of the funky, fresh, and soulful sound of Gramatik’s Lowtemp label, Kotek’s Aurora EP will be right up your alley. A rising producer and newcomer to Lowtemp, Kotek’s Aurora EP is sure fire evidence that this label’s artists don’t rest on innovation.

Lowtemp’s first release of 2017, “Aurora” sets the bar high for other upcoming releases of its kind. The EP brings you the signature groovy sound Lowtemp is known for while also incorporating original musical elements of its own. Micheal Milkotic, also known as Kotek, is a Canadian producer that rose to fame after winning Splice’s remix contest of Gramatik’s “Anima Mundi” from his 2016 Epigram EP.

Excitingly enough, not only did Milkotic’s remix win him a performance slot at Mysteryland Festival, it also caught the attention of the track’s original producer and Lowtemp owner himself, Gramatik. Six months later, Milkotic’s first full length project, Aurora, has debuted on Lowtemp. While the overall sound of Aurora is a cohesive, each song on the six track EP is unique from the next. A creative infusion of glitch, hip-hop, and funk, Aurora brings a sound unlike anything you’ve heard before.

With a track collection that radiates originality, Kotek’s Aurora EP is well deserving of the hype it’s receiving. Hear for yourself!
