The European event first moved from Austria to Munich in 2005 after including Motocross in the list of activities and then included Beijing in its list of locations in 2010. Following its relocations, the snowboarding event has featured some of the biggest winter athletes and experienced constant growth after every event held annually. After becoming a majority shareholder in 2015, Shaun White helped increase the appeal of the festival by increasing the number of locations and adding in other forms of entertainment like music.
