Swiss-based DJ/producer EDX – aka Maurizio Colella – is kicking off the summer with a revamped version of his celebrated remix of Dubfire’s “Roadkill” that he released in 2008. The original remix was a principal track in EDX’s earlier career that not only took over Ibiza that year, but was also played in the sets of the some of the biggest DJs in the world. Now, EDX circles back to the track with a decelerated version of his prior work, finding room to show off his staple deep house rhythms.

“In 2007, Dubfire released his debut minimal techno record, ‘Roadkill’ and it’s a significant song in my career as I released a remix of it in 2008 that took over Ibiza and saw a ton of DJ support from Pete Tong, Armin Van Buuren, and Swedish House Mafia, to name a few. The song still brings back many good memories from that exciting era, so I decided to revitalize it with a fresh version that features my deeper, sexier style, about 10 years since its release. With the recent announcement of my Privilege Ibiza residency this summer, this new ‘Roadkill’ version couldn’t have come at a better time, and I can’t wait for you all to hear it on the dance floor.” – EDX

If the past couple of months are any indication of EDX’s upcoming summer, it’s easy to say that this may very well be one of his most successful years yet. He kicked off the new year as the #1 top charting artist on Beatport of 2015, and recently won two EMPO awards for Best Indie Dance / Nu Disco Artist and Best Remix of the Year. “Roadkill” also comes out right before his 10-week residency at the famed Privilege Ibiza, where he’ll be showcasing his personal style of house music alongside fellow Helvetic Nerds labelmate Nora En Pure.
