Unlike dubstep, big room, progressive house, and other seemingly ancient genres, trap music has managed to dominate electronic airwaves for quite some time now. Constantly evolving to remain a staple at mainstages across the world, the genre seems to have found a new pioneer. Combining Flume-esque soundscapes with devastatingly designed leads, Blvk Sheep teams up with Holly to present, “LGI” (Let’s Get It).

Coming off a high with remixes for NGHTMRE and Insomniac’s Discovery Project, Blvk Sheep has returned stronger than ever with this hotly anticipated original release. Known for popularizing the more minimalist style of trap, this new tune does not disappoint.

Beginning with a deep pad and airy vocal chops, you’d be more inclined to think the track was the beginning of a future bass tune. However, the vibe quickly changes with the quick yet seamless introduction of the lead synth that pierces through the mix. Joined by an earth-shattering bass, “LGI” introduces the new wave of trap. No longer do supersaws and 808s cut it for the genre; Fans crave more, and the two producers deliver with their bass-centric release. The 808 on the track slides across frequencies, adding to the rhythm already created by the lead.

Blvk Sheep is definitely one to watch out for in the near future as the producer seamlessly combines sounds of the underground trap scene with the energy and fullness that fans have come to expect in the genre. Here at Electric Sloth, we’ll be looking forward to future projects by the upcoming producer. Be sure to check out the tune for yourself below.
