Matoma Drops New Track With Sean Paul Ft. KStewart Jared RuizFriday, April 22, 2016CultureHouseNew MusicReviews0 Comments Norwegian born producer Matoma first began gaining traction with remixes on Soundcloud and found success with his remix of the Notorious B.I.G. track “Want That Old Thing Back”. Since then he has released an album, titled “Hakuna Matoma”, a new take on artists releasing tracks. Instead of dropping an album and going to work on the next one Matoma has decided to grace us with an album of the tracks he currently has done and constantly adding more music as he is finished with it. Matoma’s original track “Running Out” peaked at number 14 on Billboard’s Hot Electronic/Dance Songs. Fresh off his first Coachella playing a packed Sahara tent, Matoma releases his ID track with Sean Paul that closed out his set. “Paradise” gives us a fresh take on tropical house, a genre that feels stagnant at times. Matoma changes it up by pairing the typical typical flutes and plucks of tropical house with Sean Paul’s distinctive dancehall vocals and a heavier trap influenced bass line. It conjures an image of a sweaty house party taking shots of rum on a beach, an odd combination that makes you want to dance. UK vocalist KStewart lends her talents for the chorus rounding out this track and earning it a definite spot in the must have songs for summer party playlists. If you like this track be sure to check out his constantly updating album “Hakuna Matoma” on your favorite streaming service.
