SXAméricas: Joining U.S. Latino & Latin American Communites Garrett GomezThursday, March 10, 2016EventsNewsUpcoming Events0 Comments South by Southwest Conferences and Festivals is pleased to present their third year of SXAméricas. Joining together the international creative community, SXAméricas curates a series of events brought together by SXSW Music, Interactive, and Film conferences and Festivals to bring U.S. Latino and Latin American thought leaders together. With plenty of events in store for attendees, both Latino and not, it will be the place to be to work alongside the creative Latin community. SXAméricas is primarily a method of networking, sharing great ideas, and creating new friendships across the creative industries from Spain, North, South, and Central America. But it’s also an opportunity to meet new people and check out what others across the world are doing. SXAméricas events will hit all 10 days of the SXSW Music, Film and Interactive conferences. Some of the conference sessions that SXSW 2016 recommends are The Creation of Lucha Underground and The Rise of Greentech Startups in Latin America with Mexican Congresswoman Ninfa Salinas. Throughout the week, SXAméricas showcases will feature music from Chile, Mexico, Cuba, Spain and other Spanish speaking countries. On Saturday, March 20, the All Latino Showcase will be a free and open show to the public, featuring Systema Solar, Grupo Fantasma, Intocable and others. The All Latino Showcase will take place at the Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake. More information on the free show and how to get Guest Pass wristbands can be found here. As a Mexican-American myself, I look forward to the positive vibes and outcomes that will spring from SXAméricas. See you at SXSW 2016!
