However, none of that matters to the 16-year-old Callie Reiff, who is making a name for herself in New York’s thriving dance scene. The talented youngster was first exposed to the music industry as a ballerina for the New York City Ballet, before going on to teach herself how to play the drums by watching YouTube videos. Reiff was soon inspired to being DJing, teaching herself how to do so on vinyl, while taking production classes at Dubspot in New York to hone her skills. Now, as a teenager, she’s primed to turn the page in her career, and she’s introducing herself to the world with a stellar, 30-minute minimix. Featuring select cuts like Skrillex and Must Die’s “VIPs,” deftly mixed in with a slew of Callie Reiff IDs and edits, this 30 minute minimix is the perfect segue into the weekend.
