Desert Hearts Spring 2016 Woos Us With Another Stellar Lineup

The extraordinary lineup has finally been released for the Desert Hearts Spring Festival, breaking us into festival season with a bang. The lineup contains the legendary crew of Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, MarbsPorkchop, and Deep Jesus, while adding on some of the scene’s favorites. This stellar list includes: DJ Harvey, Extrawelt (LIVE), Butch, Super Flu, Manik, YokoO, Atish, Jozif, Heartthrob, Patrice Baumel, Latmun, Joyce Muniz, Siopis, Onionz, Sabo, and many more. It’s all going down at Los Coyotes Indian Reservation once again, tucked away into the mountains of Julian, CA.

Anyone who’s familiar with Desert Hearts events will attest for the incredible productions these guys bring on. Live art, incredible sculptures, yoga from sunrise to sunset, and wonky outfits are just a few of the highlights that bring crowds in to get down to 72 straight hours of “techno, house, and love.” After coming off their City Hearts Tour striking Brooklyn, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Houston, these guys are sure to be bringing only the dirtiest sets to keep you dancing, climbing, painting, & smiling with neighbors until the sun’s rising.

What to Look Forward To at Desert Hearts

This festival instills the values akin to Burning Man and similar festivals, encouraging creativity and soul awakening. Their most recent festival at Los Coyotes hosted Pile Palace, a fellow burner camp, full of comfy couches, plush pillows, and a stage-facing bar who would trade beer for a clever joke at random hours over the weekend. Elemental Arts also had a corner, where you could sneak into the heated Tea Tent to snuggle and get warm while viewing the fire spinning talent. Personally, I’m hoping for another appearance from the Funn Machine, which trotted around to different areas of the campground while sporting a luxurious collection of disco balls, lasers, and bubbles.
