The first speaker that SXSW has announced is Tony Visconti. Mr. Visconti”s opening keynote will take place on March 16, 11:00am in Room 18ABCD of the Austin Convention Center. Mr. Visconti has been revered as one of the most crucial producers in the history of Rock and Pop. Classics like David Bowie’s “Young Americans” and “(Bang a Gong) Get It On” are attributed to this man. He recently co-produced Blackstar with Bowie before he passed away and also co-produced Daphne Guinness’ Optimist in Black. Besides those, he has also produced albums with U2, Kaiser chiefs, Badfinger, The Alarm, Thin Lizzy and countless others. Tony Visconti’s keynote is open to all Music and Platinum registrants and registered showcasing artists. More keynote speakers will be announced in the future so keep on the lookout.
