It’s been a long decade to wait to be blessed by a Soulwax original. In the recently premiered Sundance film ‘Belgica’, directed by Felix Van Groeningen, we finally got the chance to hear something new from the Belgian act. The film follows the story of two brothers who open a bar and ride the waves of the ever-growing nightclub scene in Ghent, Belgium.

Last week we finally got a little taste of the magic that we’ve missed since the last Soulwax full release, ‘Night Version’ in 2005. Considered some of the most prolific Remixers in dance music for the last decade, it is no surprise that they’re set to deliver yet another well produced collection for the film.

As a longtime Soulwax fan it’s always a pleasure to hear something fresh and exciting from the band. By using fictional artists, the group makes use of each persona to breathe life into the 16 track record for the film. While we’ve only got a little slice of what the soundtrack has to offer it is no doubt that Soulwax is taking us on a journey back in time to where they came from. The second song off the soundtrack, “How Long”, is an energetic kraut-inspired hit that’s sure to make you feel like you’re back in the 2000’s.

Stay tuned for the rest of the soundtrack as it is set to release on February 26th.

You can find the tracklist here.

For anyone headed to Coachella this year, be sure to catch the two Dewaele brothers (part of Soulwax) live at their 2manyDj’s act or inside of Despacio itself.
