As a kid, my dad raised me on The Kinks, The Doors, throw in a bit of The Who, and then add a dash of Electric Light Orchestra. His eclectic taste and catalog of fantastic artists always fascinated me. Sharing music I had discovered with my father was a very risky business. Now here comes along a band called The Arcs; a group I’d proudly present to my pops. That’s no easy feat.

At first listen, it’s quite easy to distinguish something similar. Yes, that does sound a little bit like The Black Keys. And you’d be corrrect. Dan Auerbach originally created this as a side project, but it’s evolved into a much superior beast.  The Arcs is a deliciously flavorful punch to your gut.  Like a healthy Taco Bell.  While some claim an all too familiar resonance to The Black Keys, I can assure you that the differences are miles apart, and in fantastic fashion.

The Arcs Release debut album: Yours, Dreamily

Their debut album, Yours, Dreamily, manages to deliver a variety of mystical, eccentric, tasty riffs to your ears. Whether you’re desiring a simple jam song, or a complicated bluesy soulful vocal extravaganza, it’s here.

Accompanying this wonderfully fresh album is a barrage of glowing critical acclaim. From Rolling Stone listing it among the top ten albums of the year, to raving reviews from MOJO and The Boston Globe. Sensational production of this magnitude comes with added benefits.  On top of the high praise surrounding their first album, The Arcs are booked to play at the famous Polo Fields of Indio, California. Coachella dates on both weekends show The Arcs billed up at an exceptional spot; which isn’t too shabby considering their short time in this competitive industry.  If that doesn’t speak volumes about their talent and genius that is Yours, Dreamily, I don’t know what will.
