After last week’s announcement of Moogfest’s one-hundred plus lineup featuring ODESZA, GZA, Gary Numan and others, they launched Dial-Tones. Dial-tones is a new international event series that offers an exclusive preview of the Moogfest 2016 experience in select cities around the world.

It kicked off in Durham, NC and will hit Los Angeles on Sunday, December 20th. The Dial-Tones series celebrates the form and frequencies surrounding ambient, drone, and microtonal compositions, as well as the technology behind the art of synthesis. Each event will work with a local community youth organization.

The Los Angeles Dial-Tones event will be hosted by the famed West Coast producer and Timetable label boss, Nosaj Thing, who will control 12 synthesizers for a long-form drone performance alongside WeDidIt founder Shlomo, Warpaint’s Emily Kokal, Dj Dodger Stadium Teebs, and D Tiberio. Before the main event, Moog engineers will work with youths and adults in two interactive synth buildings workshops. You can sign up for either of those workshops here.

After a great performance, an after-party will be held on the Ace Hotel Rooftop, hosted by Moogfest 2016 artist YACHT. After its Los Angeles destination, the Moogfest Dial-Tones series will continue through Portland, San Francisco, New York and London.
