Thanksgiving is next week, winter is slowly creeping up on us, the long awaited El Niño is about to strike California, but all of these pale in comparison to Zeds Dead returning to Los Angeles for their “Two Night Stand.”  These dubstep classics are taking over The Fonda Theater, my favorite in LA, this Friday and Saturday to put together an intimate show for die-hard fans.  We’ve been following this duo since before they were doing collaborations with Omar Linx, so it’ll be nice to see them in a non-festival setting that doesn’t include 10,000 randoms who may or may not have just wandered in from the main stage looking for a reprieve of the 128bpm.  With a venue cap of 1,2000 people, we can expect just that.

Coming hot off the Full Flex Express tour and some festival shows here and there, I’m curious to see what style they decide to put down for this event.  It seems lately that they’ve been dabbling in some low key bass house, which is great, but I’m looking to come out of The Fonda this weekend with a melted face.  They’re looking to provide an intimate setting by picking these relatively low-capacity venues, so hopefully they head back to their roots and put down that sub-level, brain-rattling bass we’ve all come to know and love them for.  Also, OWSLA up-and-comer Aryay is opening for them which I’m ecstatic for.  His afternoon set at Ultra this year was ridiculous, despite the lack of crowd, so this will be a great opportunity to see him lay it down in a formal venue where it’s not 100 degrees.  Either way, stay tuned next week for our review of what we can only assume will be the greatest show of our lives.
