Drake officially released his “Hotline Bling” music video on October 19th on both Apple Music and VEVO youtube accounts, but within two days of the music video’s release, it has been replaced with Yung Jules “Change Up”.

The reason for this swap is simple, hilarious, and a little sad. As soon as Drake’s video got released, the internet went crazy.  The video (if you saw it) was a little odd, but not extraordinarily. Drake can be seen dancing a little weird, but excitedly, inside a white box for the most of the video. He also dances a little on some white steps ostensibly below the box. The video of course features beautiful ladies in sensual poses.  Suddenly after the release hundreds of spoof edits of the video containing different music and video clip edits came bursting through twitter and vine accounts. A Wii Tennis edit was one of my favorites. But others featuring The Charlie Brown theme, “Suavemente”, and and Tom Jones “It’s Not Unusual” were also drenched in Drake’s goofy dance moves.

Apple Music obviously didn’t expect the video to garner so much attention in this way, but it did and it was hilarious. If you haven’t seen the edits go check them out and have yourself a great laugh or two. Let’s not forget that Drake’s “Hotline Bling” is sitting at No. 2 on the billboards, for its great musical quality. But let us never forget the hilarious memes inspired from the music video.
