Coming to us from the concrete jungle, NYC’s Gryffin has become quite the spectacle in the field of rising artists. His sound is one that combines organic guitar melodies with bouncing basslines to create danceable, flavorful remixes of some of music’s biggest names. With official remixes of Tove Lo, Maroon 5, BANKS, and Years & Years all to his name, Gryffin has very clearly exemplified his diversity in his production.

If you caught a glimpse of the second We Are Your Friends that recently surfaced, the first thirty-five seconds hosted a track that seemed oddly familiar for Gryffin fans. Well, the track is actually from the songsmith and it is a new remix of Years & Years’ “Desire” that is the lead single for the film.

For his second rodeo with Years & Years, Gryffin allows the band’s effervescent vocals and certain indie qualities place themselves at the core of the track. Around that, he builds strung out, spine-tingling guitar strums, oscillating bass wobbles, and pillowy synths. When listening, you will find yourself bouncing in your seat due to its addictive nature to get moving and grooving. You can stream it below on Spotify on Spotify, and be sure to look out for Gryffin’s blockbuster debut when We Are Your Friends hits theaters this August.
