Preview: Firefly Music Festival Lineup Announced. June 18-21 Ryan MarescaTuesday, February 17, 2015EventsUpcoming Events0 Comments Alas, the strenuous wait is over. There will be no more desperation of looking at every Reddit post, website forum, or coincidental band tour location, as this tiresome task has come to a close. Today, the folks over at Red Frog Events unveiled the long-anticipated lineup for 2015’s Firefly Music Festival, and it’s a doozy. With its only fourth year in existence, Firefly has quickly came out from the shadows to compete with the heavyweights of Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalloza. From 30,000 attendees in its first year in 2012, to 80,000 in 2014, you can expect this ever-growing festival to be a record breaker. A star-studded cast of headliners shine brightly above an equally glimmering lineup. Names like Kings of Leon, The Killers, Morrissey, and Snoop Dogg are just a couple that will soon grace the stages of Dover. While the Cliffs of Dover might be a sight to see, the Woodlands of The International Speedway will most certainly be a sound to behold. With a variety of genres, it would be unwise to consider this a festival for just one musical taste. From alternative, to indie, to rap, to folk, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Although many are focused on the bands that are presented on the lineup, the web is already buzzing with question marks about the third headliner. Months before the bands were announced, there were heavy rumors swirling about Paul Mccartney’s presence in the Delaware state. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait, but you can be sure it’ll be inciting, as Red Frog said they’re “looking forward to revealing” it. Along with a tremendous couple days of highly-talented musical acts, there is also the attractions of Dogfish Head Brewery, The Coffee House, and the Hammock Hangout to fill your time in between. As for now, in this waiting period, there are many ways to receive news on the event. Recommended sources would be the official Firefly app, or subscribed emails on their website. For those of you eager to get your hands on tickets, the only news regarding that, is they “will go on sale at a later date.” These next 4 months might be a little rough, but if you can manage to get through it, expect heaven to be waiting for you in the embodiment of Firefly Music Festival on June 18-21st.
