Who are The Floozies, you ask? Only the ultimate kings of all things funky — an eclectic brother duo consisting of producer/guitarist Matt Hill and drummer Mark Hill, who manage to take you on a journey through classic funk, hip hop, dub, and hints of disco, electronica, afrobeat, and jazz all in one sitting.

Formed in January of 2009, the pair quickly gained traction with their fresh and cutting edge approach to electronic music production. The Floozies use absolutely no pre-recorded or sampled work, and thus each show is entrancing and incredibly unique. Their musical approach leads to whole new levels of improvisation, and audiences are awakened by music truly made in the moment.

The rocking funk energizes crowds and induces epic dance parties – not unlike their recent performance at the 3-day SnowGlobe NYE festival in South Lake Tahoe. The duo closed up Day 1 in the Sierra Tent, creating unbelievable funk-infused tunes and producing waves of unstoppable movement in the crowd. Getting down was the only option.

If festival-goers were hungry for more, they could’ve received a second dose of the duo at one of four SnowGlobe afterparties that night. The Floozies played alongside Vokab Kompany and Emancipator Ensemble at the Blu Nightclub at Montbleu. Results? Funky fresh synth-hop-electro — unique as always, and never disappointing.
