Jack Yo Lantern: A Halloween We Will Never Forget Ali MooneySunday, November 2, 2014Deep HouseEventsTrap0 Comments We hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend; we sure did over here at Electric Sloth. LED and Goldenvoice teamed up to put on the Halloween extravaganza Jack Yo Lantern. The event was held at SJSU Event Center in San Jose, California on the weekend of October 31st-Nov 1st. We were lucky enough to not only be attending the event as fans, but covering it as well! Jack Yo Lantern brought an amazing variety of artists, with day 1 hosting BILLON, R3HAB, SLANDER, TJR, SEVEN LIONS and headliners NEW WORLD PUNX. Day 2 hosted WHITENOIZE, BIXEL BOYS, ALEX METRIC, DJ MUSTARD, 3LAU, MADEON and headliners FLOSSTRADAMUS. Each day you could feel the excitement of the crowd; as everyone got all dressed up and came ready to dance. The lineup also seemed to bring a different crowd each night, since the artists playing hailed from different genres. It is always a very exciting feeling with events like these; with such a variety of music you get to experience not only that aspect itself, but all kinds of people who are there to experience it with you. Who knows, you may even discover a whole new genre of dance music to enjoy. With that being said, each set brought a different feel; day one we were crying to the emotional set from SEVEN LIONS and getting rowdy to SLANDER. Then day two hit us, and suddenly we were singing our hearts out to the emotional dance tracks from 3LAU and ending our night getting caught in the trap of FLOSSTRADAMUS. This sure was an event that could fit any sort of feeling. We were also very lucky that we over here at Electric Sloth got to interview SLANDER after their set on day one; two very talented and humble individuals. Throughout the first night we met SEVEN LIONS, as well as MARKUS SCHULZ and FERRY CORSTEN. Events like these make it even more clear why people love this scene so much; the people and artists make it so special. Jack Yo Lantern was undoubtedly a Halloween for the books, full of not just scares, but also loving feels and new friends. Though, we are sad that this weekend is over, we can smile that it happened, and look back at all the videos or photos we may have taken. Keeping these memories and being able to relive them is such a wonderful feeling; and it also can help pass the time until the next event. We hope to see you all out on a dance floor very soon!
