Once known as Launch, TBD Fest 2014 will take place in Northern California, in the Bridge District of West Sacramento at the River Walk from October 3rd through the 5th. Now the largest festival for the Sacramento area, TBD Fest is bringing along an array of amazing talent from around the globe – and you’re not going to want to miss it.

TBD Fest

Previously known as Launch, TBD Fest will take place October 3-5 in West Sacramento

It all began when the festival started under its original name as Launch back in 2007. Founded by Michael Hargis, Launch Events had the one-day celebration to showcase the talent tucked away in the Sacramento Region. As time passed, the event grew with the success of Launch into a two day festival, unmasking not only musical talent, but more of a cultural phenomenon where up-and-coming artists, musicians, fashion gurus, and designers of diverse mediums from all regions could present their creative inventiveness. Now, the Launch festival is taking on its biggest year thus far, transforming into the three day exposition TBD Fest; where international artists will bring all they’ve got and present their music, art, design and culinary skills at this powerhouse event.

On the roster for this year’s musical talent you will find international EDM heavyweights, as well as artists from all other genres, creating a multifarious melting pot of pure endowment. The headliners of the festival, include the following acts:

On TBD’s opening day (Friday, October 3), 26-year-old producer of all things moombahcore, moombahton, electro house, trap, dubstep, and progressive house, Dillon Francis will take the stage. Joining Francis to start up the festival on day one is EDM ‘s timeless DJ, Moby, who has been a fixture since the late 80’s in New York’s house and hip-hop scene.  He will be throwing down a DJ set that we assure you, won’t disappoint.

Also appearing on the line up? Indie-electronica dominators Empire of the Sun, who will take the stage Saturday after rapper Danny Brown, who has been described by MTV as “one of rap’s most unique figures in recent memory.”

French duo Justice, who have single-handedly constructed the deep funk known as French house, are scheduled to perform a DJ set, as the dyad secures their well-earned top bill spot for the festival and are set to play on October 5th, closing out TBD Fest with the incomparable dance-rock, new wave band, Blondie.

Although the aforementioned artists are headlining, they aren’t the only ones the Electric Sloth team are excited to see perform. Electronica and bass heavy artist Gramatik will be putting on a show we’re not going to miss and RAC (Remix Artist Collective) is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Our friends from across the border we had the pleasure of interviewing earlier this month, Canadian trio Keys N Krates, are sure to bring it with their bass-filled livetronica style to get the crowd going. Nu-Disco star, Goldroom will also be performing a live set where you can get down to the funk and groove along.
