ASUN (Associated Students of the University of Nevada) and Bass Camp Festivals Presents Diplo at the Lawlor Events Center at 7pm on October 2nd.

Thomas Wesley Pentz, best known as Diplo, has done a superb job of making a name for himself in the dance music scene. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, he’s most known for his founding of his company “Mad Decent,” as well co-founding the non profit organization “Heaps Decent.”  Not only is he a talented producer on his own, but as well as the lead of his electronic dance group, Major Lazer.  He first got his taste for bass when living in Miami, Florida; and from there he continued to pursue studies in Philadelphia, as well as his first step into being noticed as a DJ.  He made connections with many other artists, including M.I.A. in 2004.  Meeting her was his first big step into the dance music scene.  Diplo began working with many other producers and in 2005 his “Mad Decent Label” was founded.

Diplo is very well known for his booty shaking sound; with hits such as “Express Yourself,” “Earthquake,” and his very popular collaboration with friends GTA “Boy Oh Boy.”  He has always been successful in putting out absolute bangers.  Having produced so many classics over the years, Pentz has recently put together a deluxe collection of his most popular singles, as well as never-before-heard remixes and 2 brand new tracks that feature collaborations with names such as Waka Flocka Flame, Yellow Claw, Alvaro and many more. This collection is the perfect inside to what Diplo and Mad Decent are all about.

Fresh off his recent Mad Decent Block Party tour, Diplo will be wrapping up his summer travels at the University of Nevada to end things with a bang.  University of Nevada is very pleased to welcome Reno residents and also this years EDC Las Vegas discovery project winners Vice Versa to open the show. Ross Elin and Logan Young have done a great job of taking a step forward in the dance music scene.  With upbeat happy songs like their remix of Tritonal’s “Colors,” as well as their own track “Shoot for Sunset,” these two young talented producers are for sure going to have attendees wanting to dance nonstop.  This is going to be one of many new huge adventures for Ross and Logan.

The Director of Programming, Drake Sacenti has done a great job along with other ASUN members and the Bass Camp Crew of putting so much time and effort in to make this event possible.  A huge shout out to you all!
