Anna Lunoe + Classixx at Caribe Hilton in Puerto Rico! Sam WarnerWednesday, July 23, 2014EventsReviews0 Comments44 views Yes. We did get to see Anna Lunoe and Classixx… On a beach… In the sand… At the Caribe Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico. How was it you may wonder? Unbelievable. We got to catch the extremely talented, gorgeous and energetic Australian: Anna Lunoe as she played an evening set, before the non-stop touring LA duo Classixx took to the decks. Let me start out by saying this was a day event that started at 12pm and went until 1am, it was located on a private beach that belongs to the Caribe Hilton Hotel. The set up was simple, a stage and tent – key factor: it was literally 20 steps to the water, had with 2 bars and VIP cabanas. There were showers, unlimited amounts of beer and an unbelievable amount of beautiful women wearing and extraordinarily small amount of clothing. It was a beautiful sight. Unfortunately my correspondents and I didn’t arrive until just before the lovely Lunoe‘s set. Starting off with a smooth hip-hop sample I didn’t know what to expect from Anna. I had seen her once before at the UCSD Sun God Festival in San Diego, CA (peep the interview) but that was it. Post-intro she seamlessly transitioned her set into deep house. She saw that the people of Puerto Rico liked it and she kept to it… when she wasn’t dropping all sorts of upbeat remixes of classics, hard house, Disclosure, and even a little Zeds Dead! Of course I cannot forget to mention she dropped her amazing singles: Breathe & All Out (NEW)! From dancing behind the dj booth and next to Classixx during their set, to coming down and interacting with all her fans after her set the Australian never lets down. Go check her out in your city! Tour dates below. Classixx took the booth next, mixing in a little more Disclosure, some melllllow house samples, and smooth tropical vibes. Straight out of LA, these skilled technicians knew exactly what the beach needed: as they continued dropping straight groovy tunes to a packed beach tent & cabanas. You could easily tell they were enjoying themselves just as much as everyone else. Classixx commanded the decks and catered their set to deep house lovers and feinds. The only drawback to their set, was the loudness of the speakers (you can thank Coors Light for that one, as they set up the event). While this only phased a few attendees, most people kept their groove on. Classixx continued to keep the party going with some bass heavy dance beats, and what felt like layers and layers of music (It really insane what they guys are capable of doing). These guys played an great island set. Hats off! Imbuing electronic music with personality is something that many producers shy away from. It takes bravery to leave the anonymity of the dancefloor, but its clear that Lunoe puts it all out on her new single. Today we are thrilled to introduce the music video for the already buzzing single ‘All Out’ (Available today on iTunes & Beatport). Directed by NYC-based @LILINTERNET whose credits boast Beyonce’s ‘No Angel’ and Diplo’s viral hit ‘Express Yourself’ amongst others, the video is shot in a documentary style, using the cultural landscape of DJ-life as a medium. Lunoe met @LILINTERNET at an after party in Philadelphia, where they immediately felt a creative affinity and began planning to shoot a music video during Anna’s upcoming tour. @LILINTERNET followed Anna to LA and throughout her Miami Music Week DJ appearances to capture the moments in and out of the nightclubs that make touring life so special. Scenes of beautiful environments, friendships, and late nights stretching into early mornings, create a unique feeling, a string of moments that approaches the magical for those who have experienced it, a feeling of effervescence captured both in the music video and Anna Lunoe’s song “All Out.” While Anna’s recent release, Bass Drum Dealer, was a dirty warehouse banger released on Skrillex’s imprint The Nest, on ‘All Out’ Anna and her co-writing partner, powerhouse Julian Bunetta, flip the script offering a summery sultry house jam, demonstrating Anna’s diversity, providing an exciting glimpse from her forthcoming EP Anna began this Summer festival season with Coachella, recently blitzed Electric Forest and over the coming months can be seen making stops at; Lollapalooza, Squamish Festival, Splash House, Moon Rise and lauded cruise parties All Gone to Sea with Pete Tong, and Holy Ship for early 2015. Whilst conquering national stages with her infectious energy and tight selections, ‘All Out’ looks set to win Anna an audience far wider than the clubland.
