We recently had the privilege of seeing Adventure Club at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. To say it was a good show would be an understatement of the most monumental proportions. All facets of the show were spectacular; the venue, crowd, security, sound, and Adventure Club themselves were all top notch. I must also note that the last opener, DVBBS, held their own and fluidly contributed to the overall stellar atmosphere of the show. Their high energy performance and immensely popular track, Tsunami, made for the perfect segway into Adventure Club’s set. The superhero duo, consisting of Christian Srigley and Leighton James,  then took the stage and propelled the audience into a world of villainy, superpowers, and of course, kick-ass dubstep. The group played from their entire collection of tracks including Thunderclap and Wonder from their newest album, Calling All Heroes. Adventure Club went on to play a solid set and surprised the entire crowd in the last 15 minutes of the show during Need Your Heart when they turned up the bass to an extreme level drawing an “Ohhh” from everyone in attendance. The duo ended the show with their remix of Flight Facilities’ Crave You into ETC! ETC!’s remix of Lana Del Rey’s Summertime Sadness; a mix we at Electric Sloth are still currently drooling over. The finale consisted of Adventure Club’s remix of Lullabies by Yuna into the Dangerous Business remix of Underoath’s “It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door.” Overall, the show met all of our expectations and continued to surpass them with ease. We highly recommend going to see Adventure Club during their Superheroes Anonymous Tour as it is one of the top shows we’ve been to all year.
