Today we take a slight detour from our strict EDM reviews and delve into our alternative roots. This past Monday (10/21) we had the pleasure of watching Phantogram perform live at The Observatory in Santa Ana. Phantogram, being one of the hottest alternative groups today, has been selling out show after show during their North American tour, and with good reason. Monday night’s show was jaw dropping and inspiring to say the very least. Phantogram’s Josh Carter (guitarist) and Sarah Barthel (keyboardist) seamlessly combine beautifully sung vocals, guitar, drums, and electronic elements into each of their songs; no easy feat to accomplish.

Each song performed at the show was given it’s all by the band members with abounding love and support resonating from the audience. Amongst Phantogram’s most popular tracks, the group played through their newest album, Black Out Days, just released in September. Phantogram was one of our favorite shows of the year, and we’re looking forward to seeing what this electronically influenced duo has to offer in the future.
