On the last stop of the notorious Mad Decent Block Party, Skrillex and Diplo finally got on the decks together to preform as the super group Jack U. Both extremely talented artists have recored labels to look after (OWSLA & Mad Decent), as well as their individual careers, so the fact that this performance ever happened in the first place is amazing. Usually only at events like Coachella, Ultra, or Holy Ship do you see artists go B2B like this, so it was incredible to have such talented artists playing together on such a small stage.

Playing such a diverse set, everything from Trap, Dubstep, Hip Hop, and even electro, Jack U killed it. There was never a dull moment in the set, and it only left listeners craving for more. The few ID’s in this set hopefully will be on a Jack U EP released soon, but there is no confirmation date for when that will be (if ever). One of the unreleased tracks feature AlunaGeorge, an electronic duo recently featured on Disclosure’s single “White Noise”. To the surprise of many die-hard fans of the two, they did not drop their original mix “Amplifire,” which was released in 2011.

Will Jack U tour together? Will they pick up their industry friend A-Trak and do a few PotatoWillEatYou shows? What about a Dog Blood b2b Diplo set? Who knows when it comes to these versatile artists; their seemingly random decision making is as mercurial as the music in their sets.
