Handpicked by Skrillex himself for his OWSLA label, Nick Thayer is on his way up the ranks. He’s released over 20 tracks ranging from hip-hop to glitch hop to, in this case, trap. “Rebirth” is a straight up trap jam featuring the lovely vocals of Amba Shepherd, a singer who has worked aside the likes of Hardwell and Tom Swoon. This track opens quickly, swirling open with an atmospheric melody topped with Shepherd’s vocals. Once the drop hits, a dirty trap line takes hold and as Shepherd’s vocals drift in and out and it all fades out on Thayer’s trap beats. Its a pretty solid trap tune, and leaves no wonder as to why Thayer hopped aboard the OWSLA train.

Thayer dropped his new EP “World’s Collide” today. Featuring six tracks, the EP is provides a pretty amazing example of all the things that can be done in the glitch hop genre. If you’re looking for something a bit different to listen to give this a shot. The whole thing can be purchased on Beatport:
